json rpc – RPC safety of bitcoind node

If I’ve a reasonably default bitcoin.conf file, for instance:

rpcport=8332
txconfirmtarget=6

ie: notably one the place I do not specify issues like rpcuser, rpcpassword – is that this insecure?

As I perceive, this lets the node be queried domestically with out an authentication. Nevertheless I am undecided that is any extra harmful than pockets.dat sitting round – native entry would imply personal key entry.

Are default settings of bitcoin insecure?
